Lithobates clamitans (Rana clamitans)

Green Frogs are another common species in metro Atlanta. Their calls sound like a twangy banjo string, or a throaty 'chunk' sound which can be heard throughout the summer. They can be distinguished from the Bullfrog by the presence of a dorso-lateral ridge that runs down the back of the frog on each side, from the eye to the hip.

Green Frogs are KNOWN to occur in both Fulton and Dekalb counties.
