Pseudacris feriarum

Upland Chorus Frogs are one of the species most commonly encountered during our metro amphibian surveys. These encounters are typically had through the sonic surveys, as the species is easier heard than seen. Their call is reminiscent of the sound of a thumb running up the tines of a comb.

Pseudacris feriarum is a winter breeder, frequently heard from ephemeral wetlands in the same locations as Spring Peepers. Both species are winter breeders, but Upland Chorus Frogs' breeding season lasts slightly longer into the spring.

Upland Chorus Frogs are KNOWN from both Fulton and Dekalb counties.
